 From London via the A 21  Hastings Road

 

Turn right at Hurst Green and continue to Burwash.  Turn left at the Church by the War Memorial;   Follow this road to Woods Corner.     Turn right onto the B2096 direction Heathfield.    Go down a steep hill and through an S-Bend;  take the next fork to the left which leads to Rushlake Green village.   Go through the village – the Green will be on your right.  You will see the Horse & Groom pub on the far side of the Green.  Carry on direction Cowbeech and Hailsham.  Approx one mile out of village you will see a converted Oast house on your right;  continue 500 yards and look for farm drive on right on bend – oval sign on lamp-post.   Double five-bar wooden gates – drive in.     Watch out – Jack Russell about!      (friendly)

 

 

From London via the A22 (and from the West via the A272)

 

Head for Maresfield and go through it;  follow the A272 signs for Heathfield.  Go to the end of the A272 and turn right for Heathfield.   After going up a long hill in Heathfield, less than a quarter of a mile along the next level section (A265) look out for and take the next fork to the right marked B2096 to Battle   Go along this road and take the fourth turning to the right, which is marked to Rushlake Green  Follow the signs to Rushlake Green and go through the village;  the green will be on your left.   Carry on direction Cowbeech and Hailsham .  Approx one mile out of the village you will see a converted Oast House on your right;  continue for 500 yards and look for farm drive on right on bend -–oval sign on lamp-post.  Double five bar gates – drive in.

 

From the South – Eastbourne or the A27 Coast Road

 

Pick up the A22 Eastbourne-London road and follow it up the full length of the dual carriageway north of Polegate to the Boship roundabout, where you should turn right onto the A271.  Follow this road through the outskirts of Hailsham through many bends, after which there is a long straight in front of you.  You will see Sussex Water Works on your left and immediately take the second left turning off the main road, past a small island (the signs will say Trout Farm and Amberstone Hospital).  Follow road up the fill, winding on until you come to the village of Cowbeech.  Past the Merrie Harriers Pub on your left as you leave the village.  Follow that road for approx one mile and you will come to Courtlands Farm on your left, tucked behind some thick hedges.  You will see some outbuildings first – the house sign is on a lamppost.  Drive in double wooden gates, gravel drive, old granary and garage in front of you, house on right-hand side.
